On Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 2107 EMS Station 51 was alerted for a motor vehicle collision on Mitchell Rd. Ambulance 517 responded with A. Spalding (Driver), EMT-B A. Hudler (OIC), and EMT-B M. Turner. The crews arrived to find a single vehicle, into a pole.
The responding Fire units from LaPlata Co. 1 had begun patient assessment prior to A517's arrival. Ambulance 517's crew assumed care of the vehicles occupant. Ambulance 517 transported the patient to Civista Medical Center, with non-life threating injuries.
